School Budget Shares (Prescribed Purposes) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2010

These Regulations, which amend the School Budget Shares (Prescribed Purposes) (England) Regulations 2002 (SI 2002/378), enable the governing bodies of maintained schools to use their school budget shares to provide staff, services, accommodation, goods and other resources and make financial contributions to a fund established either by the Children's Services Authority in whose area the school is situated or by any of the authority's relevant partners, with a view to improving the well-being of children and relevant young persons in that area, in accordance with the Children Act 2004 s.10. They also enable these governing bodies to make the same types of provision for purposes connected with the functions of the Children's Trust Board in whose area the school is situated, in accordance with the Children Act 2004 s.12C.

These Regulations revoke in part the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (Regulated Activity, Miscellaneous Provisions and Commencement No. 5) Order 2009, and amend the Police Act 1997 and the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (Prescribed Criteria and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2009. They make provision relating to controlled activity and the criteria prescribed for the purposes of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 Sch.3.

A Bill to make provision to require Ministers of the Crown and others when making strategic decisions about the exercise of their functions to have regard to the desirability of reducing socio-economic inequalities; to reform and harmonise equality law and restate the greater part of the enactments relating to discrimination and harassment related to certain personal characteristics; to enable certain employers to be required to publish information about the differences in pay between male and female employees; to prohibit victimisation in certain circumstances; to require the exercise of certain functions to be with regard to the need to eliminate discrimination and other prohibited conduct; to enable duties to be imposed in relation to the exercise of public procurement functions; to increase equality of opportunity; and for connected purposes.

Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (Regulated Activity, Devolution and Miscellaneous Provisions) Order 2010

This Order amends the definition of regulated activity in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006. It also makes amendments to the definitions of controlled activity in s.21 and s.22 of the Act and provides for the Independent Safeguarding Authority to be able to disclose information to police forces in Scotland and in Northern Ireland.
